Ringing took place at Banvallen. Numbers are not increasing neither, but we had a great diversity of interesting species.

APN, LDC ,MMJ, HHT went to ring to Ässön today, having a slow morning with only 13 birds Lets hope for better numbers later in the season.

Standardised ringing and extra ringing

Standardised ringing took place in Vallen and, in the afternoon, a few Marsh Tits were caught at Ängfallet, one of which was a second calendar year, ringed in 2014, and the other two juveniles. Totals were as follows, with recaptures in brackets:

Weather: Cloudy at the morning and sunny the rest of the day

APN, LDC and HHT went to ring to Ässön today, having a slow morning with only with 17 despite of the use of recordings of different species. One of the species ringed was the white wagtail, which is not common to ring at the others ringing place. Lets hope for better numbers later in the season.

We had a cloudy and warm morning until 6.30 where started to pouring. We took down the nets and close the ringing day. Summary of today’s catch below:

Today we had a quiet morning at Banvallen, with 45 birds caught. Yet again the highlights of the morning were two Red-backed Shrike juveniles, one retrap and one new. Summary of today’s catch below:

Ringing took place at Ässön. Sadly we arrived to find one of the elevator poles supports had snapped since we were there yesterday! A steady morning of ringing with a nice variety of species, 3 Lesser Whitethroats were the highlights as the first of the standardised ringing season. Detailed list bellow:

Ringing took place at Vallen. I am pleased to announce a record for this low season with a total of 83 birds. A noticeable increased in the captures of bearded tit today and the presence now the GRW in our number also helped. However, we still have breeding females with brood patch. Detailed list bellow:
