The GRW team is joined by Maya (MTA) today. In Nyängen, both males were ringed and two nests were also located for the females. In Sörbyjson, two new nests were located. There were no changes in the rest of the lakes.

With the bad weather for field work only the GRW had a go this morning. LAR found a new nest in Åslasjön and checked that all the other nests were ok. MBR surveyed again Sörbysjön were he managed to successfully capture 3 males.
Later in the morning, BNN had a meeting with the team to discuss several aspects of the station’s projects before heading back home.

The Great Reed Warbler Team had a busy day catching 1 new female, locating 3 new nests, trapping another 2 males as well as locating 2 new birds and confirming another changing to short song. 2 nests were also confirmed predated.
DWE, LST, LAR and MBR did the Wetland Census this morning.

Early morning, before the predicted rained arrived, LST went to Sörbysjön to try to catch the new Savi’s warbler heard singing yesterday, but unfortunately he wasn’t so lucky and this Savi’s wasn’t any more there. MLA has also carried out her wetland survey areas and DWE surveyed Torsholman for Ortolan Bunting.

LAR, MBR and DHT have now found 17 males and 8 females in all the lakes in Kvismaren so far, with birds still arriving daily.
DWE, MLA and LST counted geese in the morning and in the afternoon went to Rysjön to try to locate Marsh Harrier nests. 1 was located, though we had hoped for a few more. Hopefully better luck tomorrow.

The females begin to arrived and built nests in Kvismare. DHT, LAR and MBR covered all the lakes and found two new nest. Others females have been detected in Nyangen and in Åslasjön.
DWE, MLA and LST dedicated the day in localize nest of Marsh Harrier and they found three nests with two exact location in Åslasjön and a female with nest material around this lake.

Today has been busy and fruitful day for everybody. DWE, MLA and LST have managed to ring all starling chicks in one day with a total of 176 chicks from 44 nest boxes (in Ängfallet, Öby Kulle, Hammarmaden, Fiskingemaden and Sörösletten). Lucky them, they have also found 3 Ortolan Bunting males singing in Sörösletten and1 possible pair and another male in the South Sörösletten.
