Projects: Great Reed Warbler, Skylark and Ortolan Bunting
During the morning, MLA, LST and MPN were working on the Skylark project. They found the first nest of the season!!!! and they ringed 3 cute chicks. During the late afternoon, they also tried to ring Ortolan Bunting chicks. Unfortunatelly, they haven´t found the nest as it seems that the chicks have already fledged.

GRW team did its routine check among all lakes in Kvismaren. One new male was caught in Fågeljsön and he turned out to be a bird that was bred in the same lake from 2014. A new logger was also attached to this bird.

GRW has been very busy checking all lakes as new females and males have arrived the last few days. New nests were found in Nyängen and Västra.
During the afternoon, LST and DWE found a nest of Bittern; meanwhile they were looking for a Marsh Harrier nest in Rysjön. They’ve also found another possible new one nest in Rysjön which needs to be confirmed.

The GRW team did regular site checks in all lakes around Kvismaren and Ekerby nearby. More nests were located in these areas and a few more females continued to arrive.
In the afternoon, while LAR was in Mörby observing foraging and breeding behaviour of the skylark, LST and DWE had a fruitless search of the Marsh Harrier nests in Fågelsjön.

DWE finished his season with us and leave this morning. Thanks DWE! The skylark team have been working in the field looking for feeding behaviour of the specie. LAR went to Sörbysjön and found the missing nest of a secretive male. MBR went to Rysjön and Nyängen and also found a nest and new male singing. MTA covered Åslasjön and Västra. MÅN and BHN covered Slottsviken and Egebyviken.

This morning the GRW team had a great success, putting loggers on 5 females and retrieving 2 from previous years.
The Skylark team saw 4 possible new nests in the plot at Mörby. Then the team also confirmed the male to the Ortolan nest at Lindåsabacken as V5-92 and observed feeding from both parents to hatched chicks.

In the morning MTA went to Sörbysjön and found a second nest for a male. We already have two males with two nest in this area. LAR went to Äslasjön and MBR went to Rysjön and Nyängen. MBR caught two males: one in Rysjön and one in Nyängen. DWE and LST went to Rysjön searching for Marsh Harrier nest. Finally MLA and MPN have been working on Skylark feedin behaviour.

During the morning, the Sylark team (MLA, LST AND MPN) built a new platform and found a new possible Skylark nest. They also observed feeding behaviours of many individuals.
The GRW team trapped the first male in Löten and a new female in Åslajön. In addition, two new males were spotted in Nyangen and new nest was found in Sörbysjön.
