The GRW team is joined by Maya (MTA) today. In Nyängen, both males were ringed and two nests were also located for the females. In Sörbyjson, two new nests were located. There were no changes in the rest of the lakes.
It was the official starting date of the Skylark project, LST, MLA and MPN went in the morning to place poles in position at the study field to help location potential nest areas. They also observed feeding behaviours of many individuals.
DWE surveyed Åslejson in the morning to confirm another nest location of the marsh harrier. Later in the afternoon, DWE, LST and MLA went out and successfully located the nest with 3 chicks alive and one dead.
The weekly crane counting was carried out as usual by MLA and DWE, while MPN observed the behaviour of Ortolan Buntings near Lindåsabacken.
