The day started early in the morning with DWE, MPN and MLA going to Sörosletten to observe and try to ring the Ortolan Buntings. Three males were seen in the area and only one was caught in the net: a male ringed last year that was already known to be in the area.
Around Sörosletten, the last nest boxes for starlings were checked as well. No late breeders were found.
Today was also a ringing day to the GRW team with TMJ and LST trying to catch some males in Åslasjön and LAR in Rysjön. A new male was caught in Åslasjön and the male singing over Rysjön seems to be a new one as well! Also LAR heard again the male singing in Nyängen and checked it is a colour ringed male.
Later in the day BHN arrived to Ängfallet to help out with the GRW work and introduce the areas in Segersjön to the team. Two males were heard in the area, but hard to see them as the reeds are much denser in these lakes.
