Staff: DWE, MLA, LST

Weather: One more warm day!

Projects: Marsh Harrier, Starling nestboxes, Great Reed Warbler, Crane Counting.

Another morning checking for Marsh Harrier nests, this time in Fiskingemaden. One more nest was found, raising the total number of confirmed nests so far to 15. And another possible location of a nest, where a male and two females were present.

Later in the morning, Teresa (TMJ) helped to set up the GRW project together with MLA. Meanwhile DWE and LST checked the Starling nest boxes around Ängfallet and found 7 active nests already with eggs, most of them with full clutches!

In the afternoon, we had just time to do some quick shopping, just before having a meeting with Magnus Friberg about the field work of the Bird Observatory. Later in the evening some Crane counting was made from Hammarmaden with around 300 Cranes flying into the area.
A pleasant ending of the day as is was quite warmer, comparing the last few days.

After a long trip by car, Marcos and Laila arrived to the Bird Observatory at the end of the day. Tired from the trip, but excited to be here and start working on the GRW project!

It looks like tomorrow is going to be another warm and pleasant day to do the work, and we will keep and eye (and an ear) on the summer migrants that are just arriving to the area ;)
