Weather: A blustery day again, overcast for most with sunny spells.
Projects: Sörön nestboxes, Spotted Crake.
Today I began the checks on the nestboxes in Sörön and shall finish them off over the coming week. I took the opportunity this evening to listen out over Hammarbotnen for Spotted Crakes and whatever else may be present (a Jack Snipe was heard yesterday). One Spotted Crake called on Killingemaden with an ensemble of Teal, Cranes and Geese of various species the marsh at night is quite a sound. Curlew and Redshank were also calling in amongst the many Snipe and Water Rail.
