Weather: Torrential rain until about 15.30! Then a little bit of sunshine
Projects:Greylag ringing & skylarks.
Skylarks
JMY went for an evening stroll once the rain finally cleared, to check out the skylark action. A late night attempt to flush fledgling skylarks into nets along the track last night failed, so we are still hoping to get out and find some more nests, in order to take blood samples from the chicks. Weather hampered any efforts for most of the day.
Greylags
After a long day unable to do very much because of the rain, the team took advantage of the late sun to see if they could catch a few greylag geese to ring… but got waylaid by a ‘twitcher storm’, firstly attempting to see the Citrine wagtail at Tysslingen but when a little bustard turned up near Ormkärrettsplatformen that was dropped and all went to see it!
