Great Reed Warbler
MBR and TMJ went to Rysjön to ring a complete Great Reed Warbler family. Three chicks and the female have been ringed. The female got also a logger on the back. MLA went to Åslasjön and Fågelsjön and DHT in Sörbysjön and Nyängen. Most of the nest now are going fine and we have more and more chicks.
Standardised Ringing
The standardized ringing took place today at Vallen. In the mist nest, 43 birds were caught belonging to these species and a 1rst Whinchat:
- Blackcap (S. atricapilla): 1
- Blue tit (C. caeruleus): 7
- Reed bunting (E.schoeniclus): 5
- Sedge warbler (A. schoenobaenus): 5
- Willow warbler (Ph.trochillus): 1
- Marsh Tit (P.palustris): 3
- Reed Warbler (A.scirpaceus): 6 (1 fledge)
- Great tit (P.major): 4
- Thrush nightingale (L.luscinia): 3
- Whitethroat (S. communis): 1
- Bearded Tit (P. biarmicus): 2
- Linnet (C. cannabina): 1
- Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus): 5
- Yellowhammer (E. citrinella): 1
- Whinchat (S. rubetra): 1
Skylarks
JMY, MPN and Jan went into the search of nest behaviour of Skylarks in Bärsta and Sörby. They were able to find TWO nest belonging to two kind of field (traditional and ecological)! A very good day for the team! The chicks have been ringed.
