Marianne checked out the flyways for both Åslasjön and Västra Fågelsjön. Åslasjön is more or less boiling with nesting activity, whereas Västra Fågelsjön has much less of it. Noteworthy for his courage is the Marsh Harrier male who attacked an Osprey at Åslasjön!
Despite it being the day after Midsummer, the wonderful Great Reed Warbler team were up really early to ring nestlings at Oset and Segersjö. Marianne, Lena and Helena ringed two nestboxes with Pied Flycatchers, with six chicks in each. There is now only one box of Pied Flycatchers left to ring.
Marianne later checked the feeding activity of the Ortolan pair behind the house, which are still around, but couldn't detect the logger female that we need to catch. Meanwhile, Helena picked up Daniel McGibbon, our newest team member, in Örebro. Welcome to Sweden, Daniel!
That is all for now,
HHT
