Weather: Warm day with average temperature of 20 degrees, very sunny and little wind.
Today, Teresa and Lena kept working on the Great Reed Warbler project. In Rysjön and Nyängen, 4 new nests and 3 new female were located! In Fågelsjön and Aslasjön, 1 new nest has been found.
For the farmland survey, we were divided in two teams (one in Ängfallet and one in Husön), keeping watching on Skylarks, Yellowhammers and Ortolan Buntings. In both sites, Ortolan Buntings were less intensive singers today than the days before (maybe because they are more implicated in the reproduction activity? Or because of the warmth? ). No Yellowhammers were observed feeding.
In the conventional crops, we observed an unringed Ortolan Bunting foraging in an unsown strip. It is the first time observation where the species use this area done for them, which is good news. Yet, we haven’t observed any feeding activity of Skylarks.
In the ecological crops, Magnus and Nico observed the pair of Skylarks whose chicks were ringed for 4 days ago: they were still feeding them today. The male was also defending its foraging resource with another male in the neighbourhood.
During the afternoon, Mikael arrived. With Lena, they went to Segersjön.
On the afternoon also, we ringed a Blyth's Reed Warbler near Aldammen with the help of Magnus Friberg.
