Personnel; MKS, TMJ, EKA, 2x ’Crane Girls’

Weather; Thick fog for much of the morning with visibility at times only c100m. This cleared to cloud by midday and much of the afternoon was clear and sunny.

Projects; Standardised CES Ringing (Ässön)

Ringing totals; Nets 06:20 – 10:30

Chiffchaff 1
Goldcrest 12
Robin 12
Dunnock 4
Reed Warbler 5
Sedge Warbler 3
Willow Warbler 1
Coal Tit 1
Long-tailed Tit 18
Reed Bunting 1
Blue Tit 4
Blackcap 2
White Wagtail 2

TOTAL = 66 (+ 10 Controls)

The whole time we were on site we couldn’t see the far side of the lake due to the fog. There was generally little bird movement but things were livened up by the flock of Long-tailed Tits which filled up the ‘elevator net’. As well as the 18 new birds there were 2 controls – both ringed at Ässön on 7th September last year.

Other; A productive afternoon. After lunch we hired a trailer and took all the old bits boardwalk to the tip. We also got rid of the last of the rubbish from the attic after the grand clean a couple of weeks ago. It is good to finish those two jobs.
EKA baked a rather good apple and berry cake.
