Personnel; MKS, TMJ, EKA, JCN, 2x ’Crane Girls’
Weather; A misty start but it soon cleared in to a fine sunny day. It became increasingly windy during the afternoon.
Projects; Standardised CES Ringing (Banvallen, Rysjön)
Ringing totals; Nets 06:00 – 10:30
Robin 8
Reed Warbler 9
Sedge Warbler 5
Willow Warbler 11
Dunnock 3
Siskin 1
Wren 1
Blue Tit 9
Reed Bunting 8
Blackcap 5
Common Whitethroat 1
Song Thrush 4
TOTAL = 65 (+ 9 Controls)
4 Song Thrush were unexpected considering we have only caught 1 up until now. The morning’s highlights were all among the controls today. First we retrapped the leucistic Dunnock initially caught on our last visit (check out our Facebook page for photos) then we caught an adult Reed Warbler initially ringed in France!
Other; The afternoon was generally uninspiring and made up of net mending and sorting, a brief grocery shopping trip and some data entry.
EKA is currently baking a Kladdkaka which we are all looking forward to testing later.
