Ortolan Bunting
Another set of observations were carried out during the morning at all the known sites with males and possible females.
Starlings
All the nestboxes at the final site were checked and chicks were ringed.
GRW.
Today the GRW team was busy discovering three new nests, three new females, three new males and capturing two new individuals.
A special mention is reserved to the ringing of three bittern chicks at their nest, which was found a few days earlier by a member of the GRW team. The nest contained a total of four chicks, plus one long dead one in the water. The chicks seemed in good health and three of them were big enough to be ringed. This is the first ringing of bittern chicks for Kvismaren and the second ringing of the species. A fledged young bittern was ringed previously at Kvismaren in 1981.
