Weather: Warm pleasant day with very little wind and no rain!
Projects: GRW, Night Census, Marsh Harrier, Ortolan, Penduline Tit
The GRW Team report things as usual in Kvismaren, plus a trip to Segersjo finding 5 new males.
Marsh Harrier nest finding has begun, though slowly, the team began to figure out how the roles work and hope to find some new nests tomorrow.
CDF did an Ortolan sweep of the area nearby Angfallet but to no avail.
MFG reported a Penduline Tit in Kvinnerstasjon, he will let us know if it is ringed or with a female so we know if we need to go and ring or observe the area.
The night census was conducted around Vastra Kvismaren between 22:35 and 01:15 overnight. The highlight was 4 Spotted Crakes, heard around Fiskingemaden and Varstamaden, but surprisingly none around Hammabotten, it seems the extra water around Fiskingemaden has made the habitat more favourable in this location this year. Unfortunately another blank for Savi’s Warblers but it is still early.
