22 nd July 2016
Staff: LAR, LST, AJA, KLE
Weather: Calm, Sunny day
Projects: Standardised Ringing
Another unusually busy morning for the ringing team at Banvallen this morning, though if this continues for much longer it will become a normal day! 99 new birds of 14 species were caught, with the highlight being a beautiful adult Lesser Whitethroat. The most abundant was unsurprisingly Sedge Warbler, with 36 individuals ringed.
In the morning we said goodbye to Marcelo, leaving just 4 of us, which will soon go down to 3!
After an afternoon of rest, 3 of the team visited the Sand Martin colony in Norrbyås. 2 mist nets were put up and, in just 30 minutes, we caught 20 birds!
