This morning DWE and LST located another two Marsh Harrier nests at Fågeljön. Interesting behaviours were also observed with both of the male harriers busy building nests while four females circling around nests without any nest building attempts.
Later in the morning, Teresa (TMJ) continued to help set up the GRW project together with MLA, MPO and LAR. LST and DWE also spotted an immature Pallid Harrier while on their way back to the observatory.
In the afternoon, DWE, MLA and LST checked the rest of Starling nest boxes at Hammarmaden, Öby kulle and Söröslätten. Preliminary results are similar to those from last year. Nest box check will be conducted next week for late nests. DWE also spotted two Ortolan Buntings at Söröslätten and one of them was colour-ringed.
With the Great Reed Warbler team finally settled in, we decided to have a lovely dinner together to celebrate the successful day we all had.
