Weather: The morning was one of little wind, nice temperature and no clouds. Around noon a brief shower passed over but the sky fairly quickly cleared up again.
Projects: Ringing.
Ringing
Today we had our first Ässön ringing session of the season. A calm morning, although it did still offer a bit of variety; Goldcrests and Pied Flycatchers were caught, and Green Woodpecker was heard calling around the island. APN saw a flock of Bar-tailed Godwits migrating. The summary of today’s catch is listed below:
Robin: 3
Sedge Warbler: 4
Reed Warbler: 6
Whitethroat: 2
Garden Warbler: 1
Blackcap: 3
Willow Warbler: 4
Goldcrest: 3
Pied Flycatcher: 2
Blue Tit: 2
Chaffinch: 1
Reed Bunting: 2
Total: 33 birds of 12 different species. No recaptures today.
Maintenance
A broken net pole on Banvallen was replaced during the afternoon.
