Projects: Great Reed Warbler, Ortolan Bunting, Starling nest boxes, Skylark plots.
Great reed warbler
MBR went to Rysjön and recaptured the great reed warbler to retrieve the accelerometer which was attached to it two days ago. He also saw a black kite whilst he was out there.
Skylarks
JMY, EKP & MPN went out early to survey the skylark plots in the Spring crops and hayfield around Sörby, with the particular aim of trying to assess the effect the hay harvest has had on the number of birds now trying to nest in the Spring crop. They also met with Jan Sondell to discuss work progress on both skylark & ortolan bunting projects
Starlings
APN & MMJ continued to check starling nest boxes, and also made a start on mending walk ways in preparation for the ringing season
