Staff: DWE, DHO

Weather: Windy through the day, rain around dawn which cleared as the day continued. Warm.

Projects: Marsh Harrier and Hooded Crow and Raven

This morning we took on Fågeksjön but the Harriers were not favouring nest building in the windy conditions and the birds were all seemingly hunting.

We did however discover 2 new Hooded Crow nests, one at Lövholmen and another at Fiskinge. We are particularly happy with the Fiskinge find as the pair has been giving us the run around for a while now. The nest, typically high up, hidden in a fir tree.

It was a good day for migrants with 20 Yellow Wagtails of the races thunbergi and flava around Lövholmen accompanied with a good number of White Wagtails. The first few Reed Warblers were reported and a male Pied Flycatcher made itself known at Ängfallet. Willow Warblers are in, with the sounds of spring filling every available patch of woodland.
