Clear, calm weather again as we arrived at Asson, we had the nets before sunrise and caught a few Swallows in the nets near the bridge. There had obviously been a large roost of Swallows in the reeds last night as around 1,000 birds were flying round feeding near and on the bridge as the sun came up. These soon dispersed and things went really quiet with not many birds moving around, we were only catching one or two birds each net round and ended up with a total of 44 new birds and 2 retraps.
