Our automatic "ringers´'clock"woke us at 4.00am. and we were off on our way to out first ringing session. The nets were soon in place and we started to extract and ring alost straight away. One car"s flat tyre, with no spare caused some concern and  three British ringers were left to ring. A catch of Reed and Sedge Warblers moved on the total with a Red brrested Flycatcher pleasing us all followed by a Common Rosefinch moving on out total to a hundred ringed before 10.00am.The inevitable slow down was improved by sightings of Black Woodpecker, black Terns and the continual fly past of canes purring their way southwards on their migration.

In the evening as you can see in the picture we trapped a Nightjar.

Tomorrow more and better.
