After a quiet ringing session, our head ringer Carlos joined us back from his holidays. For the evening, the yearly test fishing was scheduled. Every year the bird observatory sets once 8 nets in Rysjön and Fågelsjön to sample the species composition in these lakes. In the past years, an increased competition of carp with certain bird species has been suspected. Carnivorous species like the Northern Pike are needed to keep numbers of carp fish down. Let´s see which fish species will end up in our nets.
