Staff: Bruno, Annemarie, Ashwin, and Helena

Weather: Clear skies and no wind. Temperature at midday maybe around 20 degrees Celsius.

A nice day at Banvallen with two more Bluethroats caught and a Black Woodpecker observed, the latter a species which seems to be something of a favourite with the non-Swedish staff.

Today's summary:

1 Wren = 1

3 Robins = 3

2 Bluethroats = 2

10 Sedge Warblers = 10

10 Reed Warblers + 3 recaptures = 13

1 Lesser Whitethroat = 1

1 Common Whitethroat = 1

1 Garden Warbler + 1 retrap = 2

5 Blackcaps = 5

5 Willow Warblers + 1 recapture =6

1 Marsh Tit = 1

1 Blue Tit = 1

1 Treecreeper = 1

1 recaptured Red-backed Shrike = 1

2 Goldfinches = 2

1 Reed Bunting + 2 recaptures = 3

In total: 45 new birds + 8 recaptures = 53 birds of 16 species.

In the afternoon, we all had a go at our respective tasks: net mending, data entry, counting juveniles of wetland birds (a task which is getting rather difficult this late in the season) etc.
