Personel: Carlos, Bruno, Helena, Hannes, Antoine, Marianne, Teresa. Guest: Martin

Weather: Calm. Mostly overcast sky with some rain, leading to early take-down of nets.

Projects: Great Reed Warbler, Ringing.

The ringing team set out to Vallen early as usual. The lack of wind was promising, but dark clouds were looming on the horizon. The morning started of good, with a fair amount of birds in the nets, but then the rain arrived. Not wanting the nets to become wet again, they were taken down early. Ironically, the raining stopped shortly after...

Later in the morning, Hannes and Helena carried out chick counts of waterbirds in Åslasjön and Fågelsjön, respectively.

The Great Reed Warbler project fared better, with Teresa ringing 4 chicks in a nest at Segersjö and one adult female at Rysjön. The field part of the project is now coming to a close.

The rest of the day was spent entering data and repairing the bicycles etc.

The catch of the day goes as follows:

Thrush Nightingale 1 retrap

Whitethroat 2 retraps

Sedge Warbler 11 + 4 retraps

Reed Warbler 8 + 2 retraps

Willow Warbler 1

Great Tit 1 retrap

Blue Tit 2 + 3 retraps

Greenfinch 2

Reed Bunting 6 + 2 retraps

Yellowhammer 1

=> 31 ringed birds and 15 retraps = 46 birds caught.
