Long-Eared Owl chick in Öby Kulle (photo: MSL)

Beautiful and sunny weather in Kvismaren, like a Spanish spring!

Personal: Teresa, Helena, Daniel, Carlos, Bruno, Antoine, Marianne; Guest researcher: Maja

Weather: Sunny day with moderate breeze from east-northeast. Average temperature of 21degrees.

Projects; Great Reed Warbler; Farmland Birds; CES

Concerning the Farmland survey, Marianne, with the help of Magnus Friberg, went to Söröslatten (woodland in Husön, conventional crop) where they observed an Ortolan pair which is nesting. The parents are still feeding the chicks that seem to have fledged from the nest. Good news for this pair!

Meanwhile, the Great Reed Warbler team (Maja & Teresa) had a very good day in Segersjö: They ringed one new clutch and deployed 2 light-loggers on 2 females.

The CES Ringing programme took place in Vallen today: 78 birds were caught in the nets. Here are the results!
