STUPID FAT HOBBY!
Personal: Teresa, Magnus, Helena, Daniel, Lena, Marianne, Guest: August
Weather: Some proper rain in the late morning, otherwise cloudy with a few light showers here and there.

Today, two in the Great Reed Warbler Team (August and Bengt) had an unpleasant surprise when they saw a Hobby pursue and catch what first looked like a Starling, but which was later identified, with the help of Augusts lightning-fast photography, as a Great Reed Warbler with a logger on. Thus the title of today's diary. Teresa and Lena were spared from this sight, but were instead soaked to the bones by the rain that came as they headed to Åslaholmen. Daniel and Helena gave up their net ride preparations when the rain came, as they prefer not to swing an axe with a slippery handle above their head, and for the Farmland Project - well, they've had better days, as far as Skylarks and Ortolans are concerned.
In the afternoon, Marianne and Daniel guided Helena and Lena through the reeds. Unfortunately we didn't find any Marsh Harrier nest, but it was very nice to take a little walk with you, Lena!
Another nice thing is that Magnus has Long-eared Owl chicks flying around his house screaming, since yesterday. He's also got some of our colour-ringed Ortolans feeding outside his house. His garden list is starting to get pretty impressive.
