Nico’s sista dag, sorg i huset…
Personel; Nico, Magnus, Lena, Helena, Teresa and Marianne. The working guests: Emilia, Dennis, August, and Bengt.
Weather; Sunny and windy.
Projects; Great Reed Warbler; Farmland Birds, Night Census; Marsh Harrier
Last round for the Night census:
The project has been closed last night by Nico and Magnus. It was quieter than the last ones but they enjoyed walking for 4 hours in the very beautiful with the night light. Nico did the Eastern part of Kvismaren and Magnus did the Western part. Highlights in Western part was 1 Coturnix coturnix on Fräknabotten.
Concerning the Great Reed Warbler Project, a new female has been caught in Fågelsjön! The team has also begun to ring the first chicks of the season in Kvismaren!
Meanwhile, the Farmland survey team was searching for feeding Skylarks in the Eko fields… and they found one. They hope to find the nest soon! Still in Ängfallet, the second Ortolan pair is still feeding.
Ringing chicks at the nestboxes: 1 Starling from second brood in Ängfallet and 6 pied Flycatchers at Öby kulle (enough big to be ringed now).
And this evening, after 8 weeks of intense work, Nico is leaving the Kvismare Bird Observatory for well deserved holidays with his family in the Netherlands.
Have good holidays Nico ;-)
