For the ringing team it was the best day, record number of birds! Also, they caught 7 marsh warblers, 5 of which were new.
GREAT REED WARBLER
We were catching great reed warblers in Sörbysjön and Nyangen, 3 great reed warblers were caught in Nyangen, two adults and one juvenile. One adult was born last year in Kvismaren, so it was a nice catch. And another adult was female, which was breeding in Rysön in 2016. And one juvenile unringed, on which we put a logger.
While we were catching great reed warblers in Sörbysjon, we caught a water rail juvenile and Savi’s warbler also juvenile! And in Nyangen – yellow wagtail. So it was really nice day for catching birds.
