Weather: Sunny and a little bit windy

Projects: Great Reed Warbler, Wetland survey, Standardized Ringing, Skylark, Ortolan Bunting

The Great Reed Warbler team has checked all the lakes and everything is going as expected.

MLA and MPN built a bird feeder for Ortolan Buntings.

LST and FGA woke up very early again and were ringing in Banvallen with good results!

Projects: Great Reed Warbler, Wetland survey

The Great Reed Warbler team have controlled all the area looking for new activity. We already have some fledgling in three differents areas including Rysjön, Åslasjön and Sörbysjön. Otherwise Rysjön continue, this year, to have some problem with predated nests and abandoned nests. An other nest was abandoned today.

Today was also the day of Wetland Survey did by all the team.

The GRW team had another busy morning ringing chicks and checking nests. The team has also ringed a new female.

LST and FGA got up early and finished preparing the ringing site at Vallen.

This morning LST together with the help of Andreas (ATD) tried out the ringing season. They were able to open the nets at Banvallen (Rysjön) for a few hours in the morning and they caught some good amount of birds for the first day.

The GRW team was in Sörbysjön and also covered Åslasjön and Rysjön. Chiks have been ringed and females caught.

MLA, and LST worked on the ringing sites, repairing poles and netpaths.

The GRW team has a very fruitfull day: We managed to trap two males and two females (One of the females with a BAS logger!!!), to deploy two loggers one on a male and the on the female, ringing chicks from two nests and finding two nests in Nyangen and Lotten.

GRW team went out to survey all lakes as the amount of work is increasing now with all the males and females present in the area having chicks to be ringed and rebuilding nests to be found by the team. Today in Åslasjön a male and female were caught and a logger was put on the male. Two nests predated in Rysjön. And 2 new females and 1 brood ringed in Egeby.

The GRW team managed to find 2 new females in Nyängen and 1 new female in Fågelsjön.
MLA continued Skylark observations at Mörby, but with few results, while LST stayed in the office continue to prepare for the coming ringing season.
