Great egrets (Ardea alba) have been observed at Kvismaren for several years. In the summer of 2025, they are breeding here for the first time! The bird observatory staff have located a colony with five nests. When the chicks are old enough, they will be ringed.
The first members of this years staff has arrived to the Bird Observatory and the field season has started. The beginning of the field season has included surveys of starling broods in nest boxes in the area, and surveys of wetland birds in the different areas of the nature reserve.
