Maja had an intenseve week and today she left and Cris arrived from her days off.
ORTOLANS
Early in the morning we checked for Ortelans, we did some observations, the activity was low but we found a new female.
2nd of June

Weather: Sunny with some clouds, no rain.

In the morning some data entering were done, later in the afternoon skylarks were checked for breeding territories and behavioral observations were done near Odensbaken.

Today GRW team looked for many missing nests, 6 or 7 were found and some are still missing!
31st May

Weather: Raining for the early morning, ending with a beautiful day.

A day of rescheduling.

Weather: Windy day.

Ortolan Bunting were checking by Ana, CSP and CDF during the morning. Unfortunately, there was no activity and no nest was found.
CDF and GMA have cut the grass.
Tonight, Ana, CSP and CDF are going to undertake the night census.
GRW team has had also a busy day as many females just arrived around all lakes ;).

30th May

4 hours of observations were made by CDF, most male were hapilly singing but not showing their prefered places to feed. There was also some observations of the male feeding in the tree tops (presumably on insects).
29th May

Weather: Passing clouds of a varying degree of thickness and darkness

Another set of observations were carried out during the morning at all the known sites with males and possible females.

All the nestboxes at the final site were checked and chicks were ringed.
28th May

Weather: Sunny morning and early afternoon but raining for the later evening.

4 hours of observations were made by CDF and CSP around the pair near Sörön, unfortunately few observations were made as the male preferred singing to feeding in the good weather conditions. There was also some observations of the male feeding in the tree tops (presumably on insects).
27th May

Weather: Sunny and worm, a bit windy.

Observations were made in the edge of Sörön. Female was seen building the nest.

All lakes were checked in Kvismaren. GRW team managed to put three loggers, two in Egeby and one in Östra. One new nest in Nyangen and one new nest in Sörbysjön. So really a nice day.

GRW team has enjoyed this amazing weather, checking all lakes and trapping new birds around Kvismaren (3 males and 2 females) . We've recovered the first logger from the last year and we have also found a new nest in Östra and Nyangen.
