Weather: Little rain during the morning and sunny afternoon

Wetland survey: This morning EDT and MBU have done Åslasjön, Fågelsjön, Fiskingemaden and Vårstamaden areas. Due to the rain, no many broods and species have been observed this time comparing with the first round. Just one couple of Greylag geese.

We spotted in central reed in Östra Kvismaren this afternoon and we saw 4 pairs. Now we count 20 pairs in the reserve.

Tomorrow, it’s wetland day.

Weather: The weather was cloudy with some showers.

GPS data today : new data for Ängfallet and we tried again to find them in Sörön but 28 nestboxes miss

We went to the historic areas (Sköllersta and Askerley) but the agriculture fields and plantations don’t look good yet for them.

Also, we spotted around 2h in Fågeltorn but birds seem to not really like the wind and the rain.

We check the nestboxes in Ängfallet, no bird yet. Starlings were singing in the garden and they brought some twigs.

We spotted this morning on Fågelsjön, Nyängen and in the central reed on Östra Kvismaren. We clarified 3 pairs and we found an other pair. At the end, we probably have 19 territories and 11 localized.

Weather: The weather was windy and the sun was shining this afternoon.

We spotted this morning on Fågelsjön and Rysjön. We saw 8 nests constructions. This afternoon we clarified some nests on Fågelsjön. At the end, we probably had 18 territories.

Magnus F. introduced us to the Curlew survey.

Weather: Rainy Tuesday ! The weather was cloudy this morning and the rain began around 12h.

Projects: MARSH HARRIER

We spotted again on 3 points of view in Fågelsjön. We clarified the nests positions for 7 females.
Also, we draw the report of the beginning of the marsh harrier survey. We count 15 territories.

Because of the rain, we did inside work : photo development, data management, etc.

Weather: Rainy Monday ! The weather was cloudy this morning and the rain began around 13h.

Projects: MARSH HARRIER

We spotted 3 points of view in Fågelsjön. We saw 7 nests for 8 females counted.
Also, we saw 152 great white fronted geese, one of them had a neckband.

Ängfallet was checked for the second time this afternoon. Boxes are still empty.

From Rysjön tower this morning, 6 females and 3 males were viewed, and 3 nests were detected.
Also, in this area, we saw pintails, whooper swans, garganeys, ospreys and a parade of white tail eagle couple... Then, a little group around 60/70 cranes in Fräknabotten was checked.

Weather: Sky still clear today.

Projects: WETLANDS
The third and the last areas for this 1st round :
Nynäsängen & Nynägen : lot of water (in our shoes), one couple of tufted duck, one couple of red-necked grebe.
Fräknabotten : an undetermined gull (Steppe gull ? – photo on Facebook) and a lot of ducks.

Also, we saw a big group of Barnacle geese and Great white-fronted geese close to Ängfallet.

Weather: The weather was little bit warmer and the sky clear today.

Special day today, we met the princess ! Around 9 o’clock, we put nets and tried to catch some birds. She came around 11 o’clock and discovered the ringing table, thanks to Magnus P. and his daughter explications (photos on Facebook page). We caught 2 reed bunting : 1 new male and 1 recaptured female.
