We have been ringing in BVal today, 22 new ringed birds and 10 recaptures.
One Italian recovery of a Sedge warbler and a couple of Goldfinch were the highlights of today. We had to close the nets early because of the rain.

Today we have done the 7th round of the wetland census, in which the highlight has been the large number of black-headed gull chinks that we have count in Sörbysjön.

Today we saw our first fletched chicks going around, away from the nest, the parents are still feeding. We are hoping that the weather conditions will be better the next days, for their first flies.

We found a hole at some trees close to our house, it was a Dendrocopos major nest, and we ringed one chick.

The last three days we spent most of our time searching for skylark nests. Yesterday we had our first nest with two chicks and today our second one with five chicks.
The weather is bad and the temperatures low, hopefully we will find some windows of good weather to have some more tries.
