JMY looked in vein for Skylarks feeding around the area. An ice cream from Störa mellosa in the afternoon lifted her spirits.

TMJ went to Slottsviken and caught two females, one with a logger. MBR ringed one brood of chicks and checked two others on hatching day, all was well.

JMY and MPN surveyed an area in search of nests and marked some areas where there has been feeding activity.

Weather: Torrential rain until about 15.30! Then a little bit of sunshine

JMY went for an evening stroll once the rain finally cleared, to check out the skylark action. A late night attempt to flush fledgling skylarks into nets along the track last night failed, so we are still hoping to get out and find some more nests, in order to take blood samples from the chicks. Weather hampered any efforts for most of the day.

JMY and MPN surveyed 3 skylark plots each, feeding behaviours were observed in the plots but numbers were well down, this is thought to be because of the near gale force winds. A team will go out this evening to try to catch fledgling skylarks and take blood samples.

MBR and MLA went to Sörbysjön in the afternoon to ringed GRW´s chicks and tried to catch the female. They have´nt been able to catch her. Otherwise the 5 chicks have been ringed.
TMJ also ringed the chicks from a GRW´s nest in Rysjön. She also found a solitary male in a new area but haven´t be identified.

MBR and MLA find one GRW nest at Fågelsjön. The other male at the lake, whose nest got predated, is singing long song, and then he’s looking for another female.

MBR went to Sörbyjön in the morning to catch a female for a blood sample. He was successful , and also caught 2 male birds as a bonus, with blood samples taken from all of them.

MBR & TMJ ringed the chicks found in a single nest at Sörbysjön, and they also caught three adults, one of which had a light logger attached. A new logger was fitted to this, plus two further adult birds also had loggers attached.

Weather: Started misty at Ängfallet but finally sunny and hot

MBR and TMJ went to Rysjön to ring a complete Great Reed Warbler family. Three chicks and the female have been ringed. The female got also a logger on the back. MLA went to Åslasjön and Fågelsjön and DHT in Sörbysjön and Nyängen. Most of the nest now are going fine and we have more and more chicks.
